Artist Statement
Megan Doyle is a visual artist who uses sculpture, installation and drawing. Her work is primarily concerned with the fragility of materials and how they can be manipulated.
The use of materials involved are increasingly important to her practice. Through a diverse approach to making and an openness to experimentation her work has more recently become concerned with the space in and around objects, being acutely aware of the proximity and locations around the placements of her sculptures.
The final outcomes of her work often balance between both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional forms.
Through the use of selected materials including fabric, porcelain, wax and paper she attempts to explore notions of translucency, physicality and temporality.
